Position Vacancy for the 2025-26 School Year

 

Middle School Administrative Assistant 

 

We expect to have openings in coaching positions also.

 

We have four-day school week

 

This 9-month position with district benefits will provide administrative support to the middle school office, including welcoming visitors and providing clerical support. The start date would be approximately August 5th, with opportunities for training over the spring and summer. 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES  

  • Serves as the first point of contact for incoming inquiries and responsible for providing exceptional service and prompt resolutions to all matters
  • Ensure all parent and staff questions are answered in a timely and professional manner.
  • Answer department phone, perform various data entry, typing, copying, scanning, filing, and other clerical support responsibilities
  • Assist with organizing files, editing correspondence, and other special projects as requested
  • Assists building principal with ordering, purchasing, and processing building purchase cards
  • Monitors building attendance processes and assists the registrar with new incoming students
  • Partners with building principal and athletic director regarding the scheduling of the district calendar

 

  • Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of the Hallsville R-IV Public School District.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum: High school diploma. Google proficient.

 

  • Preferred:  Clerical experience is desired.  Prior use of office equipment is preferred. Ideal candidates will have a professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment.

Computation:  Perform basic mathematical functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing

Reasoning:  Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; Solve problems when such problems have a variety of concrete variables

Technology:  Demonstrate strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; Learn new systems and software

 

 

Other Skills and Abilities:  Work closely with a variety of staff members and demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills; Safeguard confidential information

 

 

Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this position an employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; frequently required to move about and use fingers and controls; Occasionally required to reach, bend, and lift and carry up to ten pounds; Close vision ability to look at a computer screen for long periods of time is required.

 

 

Attendance: Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position

 

 

Conditions and Environment:  The work environment is frequently chaotic with many students and staff members present and speaking simultaneously.
